In his speech at the opening ceremony, Brig. Dr. Eng. Awni Mohammed Al Khasawneh highlighted the great role played by Jordan in establishing the Arab Committee and recognizing it within the specialized regional groupings under the umbrella of the United Nations. During the meeting, the Jordanian delegation presented a presentation on progress and development in the field of geomagnetic information management at the Jordanian Royal Geographical Center and the importance of the National Geographic Information Infrastructure project, which is being implemented by the Jordanian Royal Geographical Center at the national, regional and international levels. And a number of experts in the world and in the Arab member countries presented their experiences in the field of geomagnetic information management and the possibility of benefiting from it.

These experiences in Arab countries in the areas of sustainable development, investment, infrastructure and major projects, crisis management and Alkuart.ovi the end of the meeting, participants praised the significant role played by the Kingdom of Jordan for the success of the work of the Committee since its inception, as Jordan was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Committee.

The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations which stressed the continuation of work within the framework of the Committee and urged member states to participate in the working groups of the Committee and contribute to achieving their goals. It is recalled that the Arab Committee of Experts of the United Nations for the Management of Geospatial Information held its first meeting in Amman in 2014 where Jordan was chosen at the time as the Director General of the Geographical Center as the Chairman of the Interim Committee to represent the Arab States at the meeting of the World Commission on Spatial Geography held in New York in the same year.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was authorized to announce Establishment of the Committee on behalf of the Arab Group at the meeting of the United Nations Committee of Experts on the Management of Global Geospatial Information in New York in 2015.
