Specializations

This specialization aims at:

• Study the shape of the public land and determine its internal details and limits.

• Calculate land areas of different types for the purpose of exploiting them in agricultural production or dividing them using the laws of the area, and to perform the sorting and land division and the calculation of the quantities of dirt.

• Know the heights and decrees of different points on the Earth’s surface, both for some or for any known horizontal level. This process is called the budget and is used in land settlement processes to be reclaimed.

• Conducting surveying works and setting up engineering projects for roads, construction, water projects such as wells and drainage, tunnels and bridges, and other engineering installations according to land slopes and various levels.

• The use of modern cadastral tools and devices in all their forms in engineering projects.

• The implementation of drawings of projects on paper on nature.

This specialization is concerned with the following aspects:

• The importance of coordinate system in the work of different area.

• Coordinates are assigned in different ways.

• Calculate coordinates in different ways.

• Calculate the trends and lengths of the different points of their coordinates.

• Methods of representation and presentation of terrain on maps and maps.

• The use of different cadastral devices in raising the details.

• Surface elevation using the Global Signing System (GPS).

• The use of modern techniques in the representation of spatial elevation such as Geographic Information System (GIS).

Areas in which the student can be enrolled in the specialization of the diploma area:

1. Civil Engineering.

2. Geometric Engineering.

3. Engineering of roads and bridges.

Specialization in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing

This specialization aims at:

• Demonstrate the importance of modern techniques of GIS and remote sensing in various fields

, And its role in the comprehensive planning with the statement of its components and how to deal with them.

• The importance of its use in (roads, crisis and disaster management, urban planning, mapping and updating, real estate and security applications, water and sanitation networks, environmental protection, statistics … etc).

• Configure geographic databases.

• Understand the basic principles of remote sensing and how to interpret space images.

• How to handle digital images and digital processing systems.

• The importance of using remote sensing applications in various fields (agriculture, urban crawling, geology, etc.).

• Practical training on various devices, processing and analysis of satellite image data and output results.

This specialization is concerned with the following aspects:

• Analysis and measurement of maps and statistical aspects and processes.

• Linking information from different sources.

• Study the nature of the earth in terms of geological structure, weather phenomena and vegetation through digital images.

• Study of changing phenomena such as floods and traffic, which are difficult to monitor directly to the human eye because of rapid change, and recording in a digital image helps to study.

• Make very quick and accurate measurements of distances, directions, areas, heights and slopes.

• The production and updating of maps in a timely and accurate manner was not available in the traditional methods that prevailed before.

• Updating and analyzing data and converting it to reference digital databases with a known coordinate system.
